Not another cornball video game site?
The yellow beast.

Los Gatos is a museum dedicated to the preservation of classic coin-op video games. The museum hopes to educate the public about the significance of these games.

Los Gatos considers classic games those that were released from the early 70s until the early 80s. These classics include popular favorites, such as Pong, Asteroids, Tempest, Centepede, Pac-man, etc.

Los Gatos will primarily focus on black and white (b&w) games of that era. Los Gatos feels that many of these b&w games are criminally overlooked. Conversely, there is a plethora of information on Pac-man and company.

We at Los Gatos hope you will join us in this adventure of discovery. You too may find out the simple pleasures which b&w games have to offer.

OddballCheck out this prototype...Atari Boxing

The game appears to be short, indicating a sitdown dual player. Must have tested poorly, because it was never released. Find this and other prototype games at the Atari Prototype Museum Safestuff.com

Reason No. 581 to like B&W video games
Posted by pong on: Monday 24 March @ 17:17:32 (read: 3143 times)
Raster...they're cheap. In the last row of games, at a recent auction there sat a Phantom II next to a Tornado Baseball and Double Play. Thanks to my buddy Nick, I got the game for $1.

Go Philly!
Posted by pong on: Thursday 20 March @ 22:37:46 (read: 4260 times)
ClassicsPhilly Classic is in its 4th year in the running. This show is geared mostly toward consoles, but some uprights are being brought by the good folks at Videotopia and Quarter Arcade. Not much in the way of scheduled b&w raster games but a number of classics coin-op vids will be on hand. Happening the weekend of March 24th. Yes, I am a Philly homer.
